TCS Suzuki GSX-R1100W Mikuni BST Carburettor Seal Kit FKM (Viton)
TCS Suzuki GSX-R1100W Mikuni BST Carburettor Seal Kit FKM (Viton)
A complete set of replacement seals for the Suzuki GSX-R1100W Mikuni BST carbs, covering the fuel t-pieces, slide housing, top cap, float, float valve seat & mixture screws as well as fresh zinc plated washers for the choke plungers.
Unlike the generic carburettor seal kits commonly found online, this kit uses FKM (Viton) seals throughout, giving you a much higher quality material for use in a motorcycle fuel system. FKM offers excellent resistance to petrol, heat and long term ageing, making it a far better choice than the basic rubber seals supplied in many generic kits.

Why FKM Matters in Motorcycle Carburettor Seal Kits
Carburettor seals may be small components, but their material specification matters. Fuel exposure, temperature, compression and the demands of the individual sealing point all influence how well a seal performs over time.
At The Carb Shack, our TCS carburettor seal kits use FKM fluoroelastomer seals and O-rings for the applications specified in each kit. Commonly associated with the trade name Viton®, FKM is valued for its resistance to many fuels, oils and chemicals. The important point is choosing the right material for the job.
What Is FKM (Viton®)?
FKM is a family of synthetic fluoroelastomers used where chemical resistance and temperature performance are important. Compared with conventional NBR nitrile rubber, a suitable FKM compound can offer improved resistance to many fuel-related conditions.
This makes FKM a valuable choice for many motorcycle carburettor sealing applications, particularly where seals are regularly exposed to petrol.
Not all FKM compounds have identical properties, and no elastomer is universally compatible with every fuel formulation. Material grade and application must always be considered.
Why Correct Seal Material Matters
A replacement O-ring is not simply a case of finding one with the correct dimensions. The compound must also suit the environment in which it operates.
An unsuitable seal material can deteriorate through swelling, hardening, shrinkage or loss of sealing performance. In a carburettor, this can contribute to fuel leaks, air leaks or unreliable operation, depending on the location of the seal.
Choosing an appropriate material helps reduce the risk of premature deterioration. Correct sizing, hardness, compression and installation are equally important to achieving a reliable seal.
The Right Material for the Right Application
Motorcycle carburettors contain several different sealing points, including fuel rail connections, float bowl joints, mixture screws and other internal or external passages.
These components do not all operate under identical conditions. The correct replacement must match the original sealing requirements, not just the apparent size of the old component.
- Material compatibility: the compound must be suitable for the fluids and conditions it encounters.
- Correct dimensions: the seal must fit the intended groove and sealing surfaces.
- Suitable hardness: the material must provide appropriate sealing and compression characteristics.
- Correct installation: seals must be fitted without twisting, cutting or stretching them beyond their intended limits.
The Carb Shack TCS Seal Kits
Our TCS motorcycle carburettor seal kits are developed with practical carburettor servicing in mind. We use FKM seals for the specified applications in our kits, with selection focused on the requirements of the carburettor being serviced.
These kits are intended for motorcycle owners, mechanics and restoration specialists who want to replace the relevant sealing components with parts selected for their intended purpose.
Whether you are refreshing ageing carburettors or carrying out a complete rebuild, correct seal specification is an important part of getting the job done properly.
Need More Than a Seal Kit?
Replacing seals is only one part of carburettor maintenance. Deposits, worn components, incorrect settings and other underlying issues may require further attention.
