Bring Your carburettors back to life

Vapour blasting is the perfect way to transform tired, stained and weathered carburettor components into something that looks the part again.
Using a combination of fine abrasive media and water, vapour blasting gently cleans and finishes the surface without the harsh appearance that can come from conventional blasting methods. The result is a smooth, clean and uniform finish that looks close to the original factory appearance.
At The Carb Shack, we use vapour blasting as part of our premium restoration services for customers who want their carburettors looking as good as they perform.

What is vapourblasting?

Vapour blasting, sometimes called wet blasting, combines abrasive media with water to clean and finish the surface of aluminium components.
Unlike dry blasting, the water helps cushion the media against the surface, producing a much finer finish while significantly reducing dust and embedding of abrasive into the component.
It is particularly effective on aluminium carburettor bodies, covers, brackets and other suitable metal components.

The Difference It Makes

Over years of use, carburettors can become stained, oxidised and covered in years of road grime and fuel residue. Even after ultrasonic cleaning, the original cast finish can still look tired. Vapour blasting takes things further.
The process restores a consistent, clean finish across the component while retaining the character of the original casting. Combined with a professional rebuild and fresh hardware, the difference can be dramatic.
It's time to restore them properly.
